New ESNM Leadership: Thank You, Qasim Aziz – Welcome, Frank Zerbib!
In October 2024, Qasim Aziz completed his four-year term as President of the European Society of Neurogastroenterology and Motility (ESNM). The society extends its deep gratitude for his exemplary leadership and dedication, which provided stability and vision, particularly during the challenges posed by the pandemic.
Professor Qasim Aziz, a distinguished gastroenterologist at Queen Mary University of London, will remain actively engaged with the ESNM as Past-President. In 2025, he will welcome colleagues from around the globe to NeuroGASTRO 2025 in London as the Conference President of the society’s biennial meeting. Reflecting on his presidency, he remarked: “It has been an honor to be part of such a dynamic and dedicated community. The ESNM is vital to advancing our field, and I look forward to continuing my involvement.”
Succeeding him as President is Professor Frank Zerbib, a gastroenterology expert at the University of Bordeaux and a respected member of the ESNM community. Renowned for his work in esophageal motility disorders and gastroesophageal reflux disease, Frank brings extensive expertise and a clear vision for the society’s future. Upon assuming the presidency, Frank stated: “I am honored to take on this responsibility and excited to work closely with our members and partner organizations. The ESNM plays a crucial role in advancing research and clinical care in neurogastroenterology, and I look forward to building on its strong foundation.”
